Welcome ... Before Coming to Kunsan Kunsan or gunsan?Kunsan and Gunsan are the same words when written in Korean. However, Kunsan usually refers to the USAF base and Gunsan refers to the City that is about 8 miles northeast.get a SPONSORWe recommend you ask for a sponsor at least 90 days before you depart your present assignment. Contact the Intro monitor in the military personnel flight at your current base. The Intro program manager will help you get a sponsor. Once you receive your orders, forward a copy to your sponsor. VISASAll civilians and family members that are non-Korean citizens must ensure their passport contains a A-3 Visa. Passports without the A-3 Visa cannot receive the SOFA stamp. SOFA Stamp. All civilians and family members that are non-Korean citizens must get a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) stamp within 90 days of arriving in country. ArRiving at the airport Travel attireWear of a military uniform is not recommended when traveling via commercial air. All civilian clothing will be conservative in nature, and in good condition. Appropriate civilian clothing is defined as a collared shirt and pants/slacks for men, blouse/dress and/or pants/skirt (no shorter than just above the knee in length) for women.
