FLIGHT INFORMATION

All personnel PCSing to Kunsan AB will arrive at Incheon International Airport (ICN), located about 25 miles west of Seoul, Korea. 

Kunsan or gunsan?

Kunsan and Gunsan are the same words when written in Korean.  However, Kunsan usually refers to the USAF base and Gunsan refers to the City that is about 8 miles northeast.

ARRIVAL AT INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

After arriving at Incheon (ICN) you will go through Immigrations and then Customs
Present a copy of your these documents to the Immigration agent:

        orders
        military identification card
        and arrival card

ICN is a very large airport but relatively easy to get around.  Most of the information is written in English and Korean.  There are several American and Korean fast food restaurants. 

Please keep your sponsor informed of all travel arrangements/times. Due to the mission at Kunsan, sponsors may not be able to meet incoming personnel at Incheon.

Getting to Kunsan from the airport

Taxis Cost $300-$400
Yes, you read that correctly: THREE TO FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS.
Taxis will not be re-imbursed!
As soon as you walk outside the airport, taxi drivers will solicit you. The are very friendly and great salesman. Walk right passed them to the bus terminal.

To Get to Kunsan, You Need to Take a Bus
There are two types of busses going to Kunsan AB:
Military or civilian Gunsan City Bus.

Departs from the USO Counter Gate at 14
DSN 315-723-8621 or Commercial 011-82-2-7913-8621
Travels from the Aiport to Osan and the on to Kunsan AB.
Travel time is about 2 hours to Osan and then another 2.5 hours to Kunsan AB.
Cost is $60 and is completely reimbursable.

The last military bus departs Incheon at 2230.
If you are arriving close to this time be sure to let the ITT Office at Osan know so they will wait for you.

Those taking the last military bus to Osan will need to spend the night Osan and then take a morning Wolf Pack Wheels bus to Kunsan AB.

How to Get to USO Counter Gate 14
After departing the customs and immigrations area at Incheon IAP you will come out into the main arrival lobby.  After arriving in the lobby area turn right and continue walking until you see the USO desk.

Wolf Pack Wheels official traveler rates are completely reimburseable.

 

Gunsan City Bus

Departs from Outside Gate 9
Travels from the Aiport directly to the Kunsan AB City Bus Station.
Travel time is about 3 hours.
Cost is 16,000 won and is they do not accept dollars.

Once you arrive in Gusan City take an AAFES Taxi to Kunsan AB.

Although any taxi can take you to Kunsan AB, only the AAFES taxi can take you onto the base.

The last Kunsan City Bus departs at 2140.
There is a military bus that departs at 2230. See above.
