Online Learning
Online learning is not a novelty anymore and is a major force in higher education today. Online learning may require even more time than a traditional course, so the first key to success is time management. Plan to set aside 3-4 hours per week for course work plus additional time for homework. Reading to comprehend, and writing to be understood, are critical skills to have in order to be successful with online learning. Remember, there is no second chance or follow-up question as in a classroom discussion. Your writing needs to leave no doubt that the message you wanted to communicate was indeed communicated to your professor and classmates. As online learning continues to grow, there’s a greater likelihood that there will be online learning in your future. A good series of short articles about online learning - and how to succeed at it - are posted on the University of Oklahoma’s website: http://www.ou.edu/cls/online/success.htm
