There’s a reason we call them adventures - plan on your heart pumping and breaking a sweat. Some are easier than others, so we’ve created this guide to give you an idea how difficult our adventures are in relationship to each other.

Hiking at the Wolchulsan National Park

Wolchulsan has crags, spires, steel stairways along the trail and a 52m steel bridge crossing a huge gap between rocks.  Known to the locals as “The Mountain that the Moon Rises From” because its closeness to the West Sea makes it the first Korean Mountain to get Moonlight The trail starts near the Cheonhwangsa Campground and weaves its way up along a cold picturesque creek to Baram Falls.  From here, the trail becomes steep and strenuous but you’ll be rewarded with great views from Cheonwangbong (809m).  Although the trail backtracks onto itself for a short-ways, the way back down is an adventure in itself as it traverses over to and around the rock spires that make up Sajabong (408m) before it reappears in the Cheongwang Valley.  Further down the trail we cross Gureumdari, the highest grinder bridge in Korea, 52m long and 120m above the ground.  Half dozen more steel ladders and you are back down onto the cold picturesque creek and 1km from the finish.  
$35 includes transportation, guide, and entrance fee.

Zip Line Tour at Mugyeong

Fly in the sky riding a wire with 9 dynamic Zip Line courses that wiz you by dizzy ridges and valleys. $75 includes transportation, guide, zip line equipment and riding fee.
Go/No-go deadline is 1700 on 18 August.





Downhill Mountain Biking Trip at Jisan Ski Resort

11 September · Saturday, Outdoor Recreation (3hr. DR)
Enjoy a chairlift ride up the mountain and bike down at your own pace! $65 includes transportation, lift ticket, and guide.
Go/No-go deadline is 1230 on Friday before trip date.

 

Deep Sea Fishing Trip at the Yellow Sea
18 September · Saturday, Outdoor Recreation (1.5hr. DR)
Go Koran style bottom fishing fora variety of fish to catch while basking in the beautiful scenery of the Yellow sea. For those that like really fresh raw fish, the captain will fillet and cut it up for you right on the deck.  $100 includes boat, fishing rod, bait & tackle, transportation, and guide. Go/No-go deadline is 1700 on 15 Sep.

New! Hiking Trip at the Daegaksan Mt.
25 September · (6km, 3 hrs Hike) Saturday, Outdoor Rec (30 min. DR)
See the scenery of Saemangeum dyke which is longest dyke in the world with 33km and a variety of small islands from the peak of the Mountain.
$20 includes transportation and guide.
Go/No-go deadline is 1230 on Friday before trip date.

OCTOBER SCHEDULE

Island Bike Tour at the Seonyu Island
9 October • Saturday, (20 min. DR & 1.5 hr Ferry Ride)
Take a scenic ferry ride to the island of Seonyu and then sightsee the island by bike on a 5km, 3 hour bike ride. $50 includes transportation, ferry fee and guide. Go/No-go deadline is 1230 on Friday before trip date.

Zip Line Tour at the Mugyeong
10 October • Saturday, Outdoor Recreation (3hr. DR)
Enjoy the feeling of flying in the sky riding a wire. 9 dynamic Zip line courses are designed to fell Zip line’s unique attraction in harmony with dizzy ridges and valleys. The more you experience the courses, the more you can taste self confidence and satisfaction, and you can experience dynamic thrill and enjoyment.
$75 includes transportation, guide, zip line equipment and riding fee. Go/No-go deadline is 1700 on 6 Oct.

Hiking Trip at the Daedunsan Provincial Park
16 October • (3km, 2.5 hrs Hike) Saturday, (1.5hr. DR)
Deadunsan PP is a wonder of heavenly creations with craggy peaks and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. This 3km (2.5 hr) takes you to most of the park’s popular attractions including the Geumgang Scenic Bridge - a 50m long cable bridge 70m off the ground. If that doesn’t get your heart beating, then maybe the climb up the Samseon Stairway, a 127 step, 45 degree long steel cable stairway will. The climb to the summit of Macheondae (878m) is an adventure in itself, so take your time and enjoy it. $30 includes transportation, guide, and cable car fee. Go/No-go deadline is 1230 on Friday before trip date.
Hiking Trip at the Gangcheonsan County Park
23 October • (5km, 3 hrs Hike) Saturday, (2hr. DR)
This attractive park has a relatively easy hike along a rocky ravine with cascades, a big waterfall 40m high and 15m wide with 5 tons of water cascading over it per a minute. A 20-minute hike brings you to the temple, Gangcheonsa, where a small stone pagoda with bullet damage is a reminder that the temple was destroyed during the Korean War. $30 includes transportation, guide, and entrance fee. Go/No-go deadline is 1230 on Friday before trip date.

Paintball
Every Saturday • 1200-1600 Near Wolf Pack Park
No pre-signup is needed for Open Play, just show up at the Paintball Facility near Wolf Pack Park. $15 includes marker, protective equipment, and 100 paintballs ($3 per additional 100). Play/No-play deadline time is 1230.

Squadrons and groups interested in private games, training, or challenging other squadrons, may reserve the field Monday thru Friday. Contact Outdoor Recreation for details.
